Joke Request System Data Model

An initial data model for the first iteration of a prototype for the Joke Response System Request has been drafted and will be available soon. The implementation will not be in a SQL DBMS tool, so the data model might look different from a typical text-book model.

In particular, much has been written about why one should not use OTLT. Most of these problems are related to implementations in SQL DBMS tools. See the Celko article on this topic. In response to that article, no, I'm sure it was not the OO folks that came up with this approach. I'm quite sure this technique pre-dates both relational theory and OOP. As with any data modeling technique, there are trade-offs in the decisions made.
